Shot during the crazy run of Storm Darcy swells in early 2021. I've never seen the waves this big and spectacular at Watergate Bay. It was incredible to watch and shoot. I climbed a hill behind the Watergate Bay Hotel to get this shot as I wanted the perspective of the hotel buildings to really showcase the size of the swell and create a nice contrast. The deserted beach and hotel was a reminder of the strange times we have been living in this past year but at least Storm Darcy appeared to put a smile on the face!
